First Evangelical Lutheran Church

Rev. William Schwochow

Evie Ennis, First Lutheran Church Secretary

With a spirit of openness, friendliness and empathy I try to extend the spirit of the congregation to all whom I come in contact. Keeping the communication and flow of information from the pastor and church office to the congregation via the monthly newsletter and or e-mail. Answering the telephone and or receiving visitors at the church door in a friendly manner. Maintain the ‘master’ church calendar to assure two activities are not scheduled at the same time or date.  Prepare the weekly Sunday bulletin from the Pastors direction and assure all weekly events occurring at the church are printed in the bulletin. And many other duties as required.

Lisa Szwec, Choir Director

As the Choir Director of First Lutheran Church, I  work with the Pastor and the Worship Committee on behave of the Choir members to be an active participant and leader in the scheduled Sunday worship services and other services as required. As the director I am responsible for the choir's appearance, sound and delivery. We rehearse weekly and at additional times as identified by special needs.

Jim Will,

Music Director, Pianist/Organist

From ancient Psalms to today’s contemporary songs, music in the context of worship is one of the means by which we give voice to the innermost longings of the heart. As music director, working alongside the pastor, choir director, and worship team, I seek to create a repertoire of hymns, choral anthems, and other music that underscores and brings to life the themes of the Gospel. The rich heritage of the Christian church provides a foundation of traditional hymns and songs that gives expression to our faith. These tunes, together with an increasing number of contemporary songs and choral works, offer a broad pallet of inspiring music by which we as a community of faith give glory to God. In addition, my role also includes playing the piano or organ, either as a solo instrument or to lead the congregation in song and to provide accompaniment for the choir. From time to time too I write some of my own music for use in the weekly liturgy.
